The Crankbrothers Eggbeater 11 pedal is an iconic design created by Carl and Frank, the original founders of Crankbrothers. Frustrated with pedals that got stuck in mud and were difficult to use, they set out to create a simpler solution. The Eggbeater pedal features a unique system with only two moving parts, hinging on a spring. This simple design allows for easy attachment and release of your shoe. The design was later adapted to create the Candy pedal. The Eggbeater 11 pedals are the top of the range, featuring a titanium axle and pedal body. They are lightweight, functional, and look great on your bike. They are perfect for XC, trail riding, and cyclocross. One of the key benefits of the Eggbeater design is its excellent mud-shedding capabilities. The open design allows mud to easily fall off, keeping your pedals clean and functional. The ribbed body provides extra traction when unclipped. These pedals also offer 4-sided entry, allowing you to clip in from any angle. This can be done by pushing forward or pulling backwards on the pedal. This ensures a quick and easy engagement with the pedal. In addition to their lightweight design, the Eggbeater 11 pedals provide increased float, with 6° of side-to-side rotational play. This allows for improved rider control and bike handling, as well as the ability to shift positions on the bike while remaining clipped in.The pedals come with crankbrothers premium cleats, which can be adjusted for either a 15° or 20° release angle. The cleats can also be purchased separately with zero-float options. The outer enduro cartridge bearing is designed specifically for pedals, providing superior performance and durability. The inner igus LL-glide bearing has been formulated exclusively for crankbrothers and performs well in adverse conditions. The double seal system on the pedals ensures that water and debris are kept out, protecting the internal components and prolonging the life of the pedals. The pedals are also fully re-buildable, making maintenance simple and easy.To customize the fit and feel of your pedals, crankbrothers offers tread contact sleeves in three different thicknesses. These sleeves ensure good contact between your shoes and the pedal axle, even as the tread wears down.If you also use your pedals on a road or commuter bike, you can purchase a set of Quattro cleats to use with your road shoes. This provides the convenience of 4 points of entry when starting from junctions.Servicing the pedals is simple and does not require any specialist tools. All that is needed is a flat head screwdriver, socket wrench, and 8mm allen key to hold the pedal by the axle. The Crankbrothers Eggbeater 11 pedals are a top-of-the-line choice for any cyclist looking for lightweight, reliable, and high-performing pedals.
