The updated tread pattern, which is a direct response to feedback from professional riders, now features split double-wide knobs, providing more robust cornering knobs and improved braking and cornering traction. Additionally, raised ridges on the casing promote effortless mud clearing.

This versatile mid-spike tyre is perfect for deep loam or loose powder, offering exemplary cornering control and rolling efficiency. It incorporates Maxxis's proprietary MaxxGrip Compound Technology, delivering the ultimate in grip and slow rebound properties for unparalleled traction in downhill applications.

Built with DoubleDown Puncture Protection, the Shorty Gen 2 also includes a butyl insert that gives the enduro rider the support and protection typical of a downhill tyre but in a much lighter package. This bike tyre is now even 5% lighter due to its narrower 2.40” width, providing more mud clearance and reduced weight.

Moreover, Maxxis has ensured this product is Tubeless Ready. Without a tube, riders can enjoy lower air pressures for better traction, lower rolling resistance, and less chance of flatting. Please note that only liquid sealants should be used in this type of tyre, and any other use will void the warranty.

Last but not least, the Shorty Gen 2 is crafted with Wide Trail (WT) construction, optimising the tyre's tread layout and profile on today's wider rims. While the tyre is optimised for a 35mm inner rim width, it can effectively work with a range from 30-35mm inner rim widths, for ultimate rider preference and convenience.
