ENVE arrives at Bicycle Chain

Good news! The pinnacle of road biking excellence has arrived at Bicycle Chain. ENVE Composites, a giant of the pro peloton and pioneers of the latest bike technology, are an American company striving for speed above all else. And they’re not making any stops on their way to the top with speed talisman Mark Cavendish flying their flag on the world stage.

The ENVE story

Composed of engineers, innovators and risk takers, the team at ENVE have been carving their way into the carbon market with much success, partnering with prominent frame builders and top athletes to create the ultimate carbon fibre products.

Born from a small carbon fibre specialist located in the US, ENVE has expanded into one of the world’s leading aero wheel manufacturers, and eight years ago an R&D project gave the small brand the kick it needed to grow into a global superstar.

The company is based out of a state-of-the-art facility in Ogden, Utah, with the entire construction process, from design and R&D, to manufacturing, assembly and even customer support all under one roof. Such a tight-knit but globally distributed brand ensures an unmatched level of visibility, control and connectivity – a company with both the process and products at its core.

Why ENVE?

Every product, from carbon seat post to deep-rimmed wheelset is made to a set formula: a mix of strong, light, stiff and aero inclined materials. ENVE maintains the ethos to make no compromise on materials and performance, ensuring that you’re buying into engineered excellence. The clue is in the name, ENVE: the pinnacle that all other manufacturers want to reach.

Built for performance, speed and ultimately racing, ENVE have gone to great lengths to pave new directions in pioneering bicycle technology. Their free-thinking attitude has led to numerous unique and patented technologies that make their products faster, stronger, lighter and more aero than any other competitors. For instance, their SES wheels stand out for their unequal rim depths, moulded spoke holes and game-changing textured brake tracks the envy of all other manufacturers.

Not stopping in the wheel department, ENVE also drive a lot of research into the cockpit – their carbon stems and compact road handlebars the components of choice for the most elite of World Tour sprinters.

ENVE in the pro ranks

Sponsoring teams in both the MTB and road disciplines – Santa Cruz Syndicate and Team Dimension Data – ENVE have more than enough opportunities for the most informative of feedback, not to mention exposure on the world stage. Mark Cavendish described his 2017 Tour de France bike as, “brand spanking new technology, it’s cool to be the first to have it in cycling.”

The ENVE range will have to live up to its claims this summer, the 2018 Tour de France looking like a last chance saloon for Cavendish to try and topple Eddy Merckx’s lofty record of 34 stage wins. With the compact cockpit, superior aero wheelsets and a revolutionary paint technology that shaves over 50g from a sprayed frameset, ENVE may just be the brand that pilots a Tour de France record breaker.
