How to choose?
Choosing lights is an important business so how do you go about it? It all depends how you ride. City commuters have different needs to rural night riders and their kit choices differ accordingly. If you’re an urban rider, it’s more important to make yourself visible than it is to light up the road ahead – street lights should do that for you. Out on the dark and narrow country lanes, though, you defnitely want to be able to see where you’re going. That’s where the higher lumens come in.
Cateye Volt 1200 USB Rechargeable Front Light
The Cateye Volt is an award-winning performance light that pumps out a regulated (no fade) 1200 lumens. It makes use of Cateye’s photometrics and advanced lens technology, which means that every bit of output is optimised, putting the light right where you need it. Depending on the power function selected, this front light will last between two and fourteen hours before needing a recharge via USB.
Cateye Volt 400XC / Rapid Mini USB Set
This supremely user-friendly and efficient light set from industry leader Cateye has multiple functionality to cater to different conditions. Both front and rear lights are easily attached to the bike’s handlebars and seatpost by either bracket attachment or rubber O-ring.
