Power your ride with a turbo boost

What’s better than riding your bike in the great outdoors? Riding your bike at super speeds of course! That’s what Specialized’s Turbo range offers: a well-earned boost for when the going gets too tough or your legs just need a little rest.

Whether you’re a seasoned commuter or a singletrack shredder, the Specialized Turbo e-bike range has a number of models to suit your style of riding. Here are just a few that we stock here at Bicycle Chain…

Crush the commute

E-bikes are slowly infiltrating every kind of cycling discipline, but where they’re making the most in-roads is in the commuting sector; urban riders love the fact they can speed to work without even breaking a sweat.

Specialized’s Turbo Vado is a commuting beast, optimised for a life spent whizzing around back lanes and city streets. The ergonomic design ticks all the boxes when it comes to commuting, encouraging an upright riding position for the comfiest pedalling experience.

The Vado also comes complete with mudguards, grippy disc brakes and a small amount of front suspension, giving it the power to tackle any kind of morning commute. A custom 250-watt motor kicks into action at just the flick of a button, giving you the power to reach a zippy cruising speed without having to exert much effort at all. The Turbo Vado is also available in a women’s specific variant, a dropped top tube allowing for easier step-on and step-off access.

Shred trails with extra speed

For those who hate pedalling up to the top of downhill runs, then e-MTBs are perfect. With all the shredding capabilities of a true downhill trail bike but an extra turbo boost to power up the steep stuff, e-MTBs are carving their own unique niche in the mountain bike community.

Specialized’s Turbo Levo FSR and Turbo Levo HT are two of the best electric-powered trail bikes out there. Whether you’re eyeing up a gnarly downhill or just cruising cross-country, they’re optimised for that all-mountain kind of riding.

The Levo HT has a rigid back end, making it great for exploring rough forest tracks and trails. The Levo FSR on the other hand has fully dialled downhill suspension, making it a perfect choice for hitting technical downhill tracks.

If you’re looking for a true downhill rig however, look no further than the Turbo Kenevo, Specialized’s downhill-optimised e-bike. With full downhill suspension, a burly construction and a motor that’s tailor-made for smooth power output on rough trails, the Kenevo is a true downhill monster. Just flick the power switch and send it.

Boost on a budget

An e-bike needn’t blow a hole in your pocket, and Specialized have designed some models aimed at those riders working to a budget.

For those commuters looking for an e-alternative but don’t want to break the bank, then the Turbo Vado 1.0 and 2.0 models are perfect. They have all the same neat features as the higher-end Levos, like the comfy ergonomic design, but just make a few changes in the motor department, like swapping a big battery and powerful motor for more budget alternatives.

For those riders who prefer riding off-road, then the Turbo Levo HT is a fantastic entry-level bike and a perfect introduction to eMTBs. Once you’ve mastered the beginners trails and cross-country tracks on this machine, you can step it up a gear with the Levo FSR and hit the gnarly stuff.
