Don't worry, the new Specialized Stumpjumper Comp Carbon 29 has all the fun of the S-Works version. It features the same 11m carbon frame and rear-end, but with a more affordable selection of components, including a SRAM NX Eagle 12-speed groupset. Our aim in designing the new Stumpjumper was simple - to create the ultimate trail bike that feels incredibly responsive. We discovered that stiffness plays a crucial role in achieving this. When the frame sends conflicting messages to your hands and feet, your bike feels unstable. To address this, we meticulously fine-tuned the materials, shapes, and layout of the frame.First, we developed our own stiffness test specifically for mountain bikes. We then used Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to identify areas for the most significant stiffness improvements. This led us to a groundbreaking discovery - that the larger frame sizes needed more front-end stiffness, while the smaller sizes were already optimal. By implementing these findings, we were able to create a design that is 20% more efficient. As a result, this trail bike is one of the lightest on the market today. To achieve our stiffness goals, we introduced a revolutionary sidearm design. This design connects the front and rear ends at three points, ensuring exceptional stiffness and reducing frame flex when the rear suspension is active. We also fine-tuned the suspension performance with a custom Rx Trail Tune on both the fork and rear shock. This tune allows for optimal adjustment and ensures a linear suspension feel across all wheel sizes. We also focused on making this bike easy to live with. We reintroduced threaded bottom brackets and increased clearance for up to 3.0" tires. You have the freedom to use any aftermarket rear shock, thanks to the use of standard metric shocks. We also improved the SWAT box, making it lighter, sleeker, and with more storage volume. The Flip Chip allows you to customize the Stumpjumper to your riding style by lowering the bottom bracket and slackening the head tube angle.Other thoughtful touches include a newly designed chainstay protector to reduce chain slap noise, streamlined and effortless cable routing on carbon models, and the ability to fine-tune your ride with the Roval Traverse 29 wheels. The Comp model of the Stumpjumper comes with high-quality components, including a 12-speed SRAM NX Eagle drivetrain, SRAM Guide R disc brakes, FOX front and rear suspension, and Roval Traverse 29 wheels. Get ready to elevate your trail riding experience with the Specialized Stumpjumper Comp Carbon 29.
