After buying the right bike, adjusting the bike to fit you will make the next biggest impact on you enjoying cycling and getting out on your bike more often. When it comes to bike fitting a small adjustment can have a big impact on how comfortable you are on your bike. We are all different shapes and sizes and a few small tweaks go a long way.
When you buy a bike from us in the store or come to collect your Click & Collect order we will adjust your new bike to fit you.
This includes adjusting saddle height, saddle position and where possible adjusting the brake levers / gear shifters.
We will also adjust any accessories you have purchased with your bike where applicable.
Our bikes are built by professional mechanics, but with all new bikes there is bedding in period where gear and brake cables will stretch and need to be adjusted.
We know that a smooth running bike is more enjoyable and confidence inspiring to ride.
When you buy a bike from us you will get a free service at your nearest Bicycle Chain store within 6 weeks of taking delivery of your bike.
The free service is put in place to make sure the bike you have purchased is running correctly and to adjust out any cable stretch that happens to any new bike.
The type of bike you have bought and the type of riding you have planned will affect how soon you need to book your free service.
However if you experience any issues at any time you should stop riding your bike and book your bike in for its free service immediately.
We know that after you have bought the right and adjusted it to fit you, being as comfortable as possible on the bike could be the difference between achieving your goals or not.
The more comfortable you are, the more you will enjoy cycling and the more you enjoy cycling, the more often you will get out of your bike.
Having a spare inner tube, patches, pump and tools to fix a puncture are a must to give you the confidence to get out on those longer rides without the worry of getting stranded.
Preparing for all conditions will keep you riding when you might otherwise not get out on your bike. Lights for riding in traffic or at night or mudguards and jackets for when it's wet.
Even having the right clothing to allow you to move freely, keep you cool, warm, dry or padded shorts to keep you comfortable on longer rides all make a huge difference.
