The DT Swiss GR 531 gravel range was designed with the modern cyclist in mind. Freed from UCI regulation, DT Swiss engineers were able to conduct extensive testing and found that a full 24mm width was ideal for the modern Gravel bike. This wider width offers improved support for large, 35c or larger tyres, permitting the use of lower pressures. This aids in enhancing grip and comfort while diminishing rolling resistance and tyre flex during cornering.
These rims come with a substantial 130 KG weight limit, making them versatile for both bike packing and light touring. The GR 531 model is tubeless-designated, but it can also easily accommodate standard clinchers and tubes. Unlike lightweight XC mountain bike rims that have been retrofitted for gravel use, these are genuine road rims that can handle higher pressures safely.
Crafted with Strength Boost Welding Technology, these rims offer a durable, reliable performance with perfectly welded joints. The included PHR washers and convex Squorx nipples pair perfectly with your chosen spokes, boosting stiffness and durability without the weight penalty associated with traditional eyeleted rims.
The black coating on these rims is achieved through a unique process, producing a tough, durable finish. Presta drilled for ease of use, these rims have an external width of 28mm, internal width of 24mm and height of 25mm.
With an ERD of 556mm (650B) or 594mm (700c) when PHR washers are installed, these rims can handle a maximum spoke tension of 1200 N. They weigh 500 grams (650B) or 535 grams (700c), making them a lightweight option for your biking needs.
